Original Image Name: Piciwiki_israel_87915_עמישבjpg Notes: הוקמה כמעברה ב1950 ונקראה בראשיתה quotמעברת פתח תקווהquot ראשוני המתיישבים במעברה היו עולים חדשים מעיראק שהיוו לאחר מכן כ85 מהתושבים אחרכך באו עולים מפרס רומניה אפגניסטן ותימן עד סוף שנת 1952 הוחלפו כל האוהלים במקום בצריפים שהושכרו לתושבים על ידי עמידר מעטים מהתושבים עברו לגור במקומות אחרים ואל המעברה הגיעו תושבים נוספים ממעברות אחרות באמצע 1953 החליטה ועדת השמות הממשלתית לקרוא לה עמישב לציון נס קיבוץ הגלויות בתחילת 1955 התגוררו במעברה כ8000 תושבים בצריפים דולפים וללא חשמל
